Donny Wohlers
Commissioner Donny Wohlers is Stevens County District 4 County Commissioner. He serves the constituents in the City of Morris, Precinct 3, as well as the Darnen Township. Wohlers has been elected to one term for Stevens County. He started in 2013.
Commissioner Wohlers is a lifelong resident of Stevens County. Wohlers attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Morris High School, and is a graduate of Pipestone Vocational Technical College. After graduating, he worked in both masonry and general construction as an employee and self-employed business owner. In 1997, he purchased the Morris VFW building and started Old No. Bar and Grill.
During this time period, Commissioner Wohlers also served 10 years in the Minnesota National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1989.
Commissioner Wohlers is married to Amy Doll and they have 4 children. Brennan, Carly, Colton, and Bobbi Jo.
Wohlers has actively been involved in many community activities. He is a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Morris Lions, American legion, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and the Deer Hunters Association. As a commissioner, Wohlers wants to hear from the constituents on issues that affect them. Wohlers serves on a variety of committees representing local government interests. He currently serves on both internal and external committees which include: Rainbow Rider, West Central Communities Action Board, Extension, Regional Fitness Center Board, Stevens County Economic Improvement Commission, Food Shelf, E911, West Central Juvenile Detention Joint Powers Board, Airport Advisory Board, Facilities Committee, Safety Committee, and Shared Technology Fund Committee.
